History of Northgate

12 Northgate was built in 1885 originally as a grain store and was then a National Benzole Garage for many years selling petrol and
undertaking general repairs.
The building was purchased by Colbourne & Sons in 1993 and originally used as a gym and health club. After converting the building into offices it welcomed its first new tenant, Bayley & Willmer Architects in 1994. Although they changed their name to Studio 5 Architects in 2008,
they remained tenants until December 2020.
